Hello Everyone!
We are meeting here today after such a long period. Actually Design 101 Flotilla is very busy these days as all of us with Captain Designer and his team are celebrating one month of Design 101. Lola!
We explored different lands with different designs. So many new designers came forward and we had shared our thoughts and work; the jubilation and festival continued for the whole one week. So lets start our journey, come along with me in this foggy winter morning.
Everyday we visit a new country of a new designer.
Monday: Design 101 Flotilla in Egypt!
On Monday we visited Cairo, Arab Republic of Egypt; a transcontinental country which spreads from the northeast corner of Africa to southwest corner of Asia, via a land bridge formed by the Sinai Peninsula.
This week is a special to visit some of you. A week without new homework quiz or questions to share with you some of things we liked and appreciated the most. Today, our greetings come from Cairo! Thank you for your shirt Karima Khalil!

Captain designer told us about the famous "One thousand and one nights". It is based on a literary device of telling story within the story "...that you have just seen in the postcard, a collection stories and folk tales compiled in Arabic during the Islamic Golden Age." (from letter).
Then the question of the day: What did I learn from the other students? Infact it is the question of the week. All thirty thousand plus students put forward there experiences and thoughts. And what about me? Yes you are probably thinking about me. So I learned sharing. Sharing my ideas, thoughts, my imaginations as I am doing it right now, in short my work. Because of this Design 101 Flotilla I started this blog.
Tuesday: From Egypt to Turkey!
We are in Kusadasi, Turkey! From one transcontinental country to another, we are in Asia as well as in Europe today. Osman Sahin my classmate suggested us to go to see Istanbul's Museum of Innocence. A special project by Orhan Pamuk.

My drawing is poor but I took initiative and sketched this first picture which is inspired by the novel Wuthering Heights of Emily Bronte. I sketched it in five minutes only.

Thursday in Brazil!

I wrote short stories Beginnings, Voyage of Exploration: Day 8, and Voyage of Exploration Day 9 which can find in this blog and further I try to create a short story in my every post.
I did start experimenting.
We are introduced with Oscar Niemeyer and his beautiful architecture. Captain Designer explained us the concept of flower power.

Friday: Greetings from Valencia!
We arrived in Valencia (famous for Tomatina "a day in which everyone throw tomatoes to each other!") Spain again and visiting Rosa Montesa today. “Las Fallas” festival is going on these days and Rosa prepared a beautiful dress. But first we we’ll go out together for lunch and have a delicious paella.
Greetings from Valencia! Today is a curious one. We arrived during “Las Fallas” festival and are are now getting all dressed up for the party...

I followed different websites which were mentioned in the Future of Storytelling weekly posts as well Design 101 daily letters and experimented different websites in making my assignments. My post Design 029/101 is an example of an experiment and more to come.
Its enough for today I think. We will continue our voyage of self exploration tomorrow.
