StoryMOOC Creative Task # 1

Please think about which story you have read, seen, listened to, played or experienced has impressed you most in your life. … Which story can you still very well remember? Write down both, the summary of this story and – on the other hand: – what made it so special to you that you can still remember it.
WUTHERING HEIGHTS
Story of Love & Revenge

The story is set up in the early nineteenth century at a moor country in England. It is 1801, there are two villas Wuthering Heights and Thrushcross Grange whose sole owner is Mr. Heathcliff. Mr. Lockwood takes Thrushcross Grange on rent and Nelly Dean is his servant. This story is based on the recollections of Mr. Lockwood and the narrator of the story is Nelly Dean.

Nelly told that she worked in Wuthering Heights when she was young. One day manor of the house Mr. Earnshaw went to Liverpool and asked his children, Hindley and Catherine if they need anything. After sometime Mr. Earnshaw returned with a dark coloured gipsy named Heathcliff. Mrs. Earnshaw and Hindley hated Heathcliff while Catherine spent all the day with him. Eventually both of them fell in love.
After the death of Mrs. Earnshaw, Mr. Earnshaw became more closer to Heathcliff and loved more than his own son. Due to Hindley’s astringent behaviour towards Heathcliff Mr. Earnshaw sent Hindley to a college.
After Mr. Earnshaw’s death, Hindley came back with his wife and became more acerbate towards Heathcliff, he forced him to work as a servant.

One night Catherine and Heathcliff were playing over the moors. While running they entered into Thrushcross Grange where Linton's dog bit Catherine, Mr. Linton was manor of the house. Mr. and Mrs. Linton asked about Catherine from Edgar and Isabella, their children and kept her for four or five months until Catherine became well. During that period Catherine involved with Edgar Linton.
She returned home as a civilised lady, she ignored Heathcliff’s love and got infatuated with Edgar. Mrs. Hindley died after giving birth to a boy Hareton and Hindley became alcoholic after his wife’s death. Cathy decided to marry Edgar. Before her marriage Cathy told Nelly about her love and said, “ I am Heathcliff”, Nelly knew that Heathcliff was sitting behind and listening them. From that moment Heathcliff left Wuthering Heights and Cathy married to Edgar.

Heathcliff returned shortly after her marriage as a well-grown, educated and rich person. He directly went to Thrushcross Grange to meet Cathy. He was getting closer to her and at the same time he was advancing towards Isabella to take revenge. He married her and abused her severely, meanwhile Heathcliff junior and Catherine junior were born. Heathcliff had taken control over Wuthering Heights as well as Hindley and Hareton.
Cathy junior married Heathcliff junior; Hindley died; Hareton became servant in his own home as Heathcliff made Hareton as himself.
Heathcliff abused his own son and eventually his son and wife Isabella died. Heathcliff had taken revenge from everyone. Cathy on the other side was getting weaker day by day and died as well as Edgar and Heathcliff became the sole owner of Thrushcross Grange ans Wuthering Heights.
In the end Heathcliff died and Cathy junior and Hareton married happily everafter.

Emily Brontë’s “Wuthering Heights” is my favourite. Catherine surpasses everything and says, “I am Heathcliff.” This single sentence contains the whole warmth of Catherine and Heathcliff’s love, passion, desire, devotion, fervor, hate, revenge every feeling which cannot expressed into words.
How Ms. Bronte created this story in a very young age is unbelievable. My Professor says that “Emily put all of her energy in that single novel that is why she died so early.”
Plot within a plot, within a plot, what can I say more.
The location is a moor which represents maroon personalities of every individual though they lived together in Wuthering Heights and in Thrushcross Grange. Heathcliff turned into a diabolic character, he took revenge with everyone even from himself.
