StoryMOOC Week 2: Discussion 1

TV markets outside of Germany and the US. How do serial formats in your country differ from the ones discussed in the lectures? And: What is similar?       Once Pakistani Drama was so unique in production, style and story; having maximum fifteen episodes. These days "drama series" dominate the television industry which is a half-an hour story mainly revolves around in-laws and their daughter-in-law relationships and intrigues which will NEVER end. There is no creativity, no story, extremely boring and it seems without any plot that is why viewers prefer to watch international plays. Further, the "drama seriels" represent sick mentallity, for example the story revolves around two brothers and a heroine; two sisters and a hero; marriage issues and nothing else.     That is why these days Pakistani TV is dominated by Turkish dramas which are being telecasted daily and this is the main attraction for the viewers as they don't have to wait for the whole week to watch further developments. Viewers want to change, different mood and story while Turkish dramas represent real life stories of household, individuals and their surroundings.P.S.
This homework has been done for the +iversity course The Future of Storytelling, StoryMOOC instructed by Prof. +Winfried Gerling, Prof. +Constanze Langer, +Christina Maria Schollerer, and +Julian van Dieken.
